worldwide museum community will celebrate the International Museum Day around May 18, 2011.
The theme of International Museum Day 2011 is "Museums and Memory." With objects that remain, the museums collect stories and transmit the memory of the communities in which we live. These objects are expressions of our natural and cultural heritage, many of them are fragile, sometimes in danger and need to be preserved carefully. The International Museum Day will give visitors the opportunity to discover and rediscover the individual and collective memory.
